[VIETNAM- CHINA] PROMOTING THE COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGIC COOPERATIVE PARTNERSHIP

Within the framework of the 29th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Bangkok (Thailand) on November 18, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a meeting with Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.

In an atmosphere of openness, sincerity and mutual trust, both two leaders expressed pleasure and appreciation for the good progress in the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China in recent times. Especially the important results achieved during the official visit to China by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (October 30 - November 1, 2022). President Nguyen Xuan Phuc respectfully conveyed the invitation of the Vietnamese Senior Leader to Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to visit Vietnam soon.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc warmly congratulated the success of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, the Chinese people and the nation will successfully implement the goals set out by the 20th National Congress. The President affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State, and People always attach great importance to consolidating and developing the friendship and cooperation relationship with the Chinese Party, State, and People, considering this a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy; wishes to promote the two-party relations, the two countries to develop stable and long-term.

In that spirit, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested that the two sides will implement the common perception of major directions in cooperation; directing all levels and sectors of the two sides to well implement the "Vietnam - China Joint Statement on further promoting and deepening the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership". At the same time, the parties strive to bring the two countries' relations to a new stage with solid political ties, trust, effective cooperation, a solid foundation of friendship, and control of disagreements.

Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping affirmed that the Chinese Party, Government, and people attach great importance to relations with Vietnam. Always ready to make efforts with the Party, State, and Vietnamese People to strengthen friendship and cooperation, bringing the two countries relations to develop in a new phase.
