Symbol of the Temporary Residence Card for Foreigners Married to Vietnamese Citizens
TT – Issued to foreigners who are spouses or children under 18 years old of foreigners who have been granted a visa with symbols LV1, LV2, LS, ĐT1, ĐT2, ĐT3, NN1, NN2, DH, PV1, LĐ1, LĐ2 or to foreigners who are the parents, spouses, or children of Vietnamese citizens.
Conditions for Issuing a Temporary Residence Card to Foreigners Married to Vietnamese Citizens
- The foreigner's passport must have a validity of more than one year;
- The visa currently being used in Vietnam must have the symbol TT;
- A marriage certificate registered in Vietnam or a marriage record in Vietnam for marriages registered abroad (if it's a foreign document, it must be legalized and translated with a certified translation).
Documents Required for a Temporary Residence Card Application for Foreigners Married to Vietnamese Citizens
- A notarized copy of the marriage certificate registered in Vietnam, or a consular legalized copy of the marriage record in Vietnam for marriages registered abroad;
- Guarantee and application form for a temporary residence card for foreigners (Form NA7);
- Application form for a temporary residence card for foreigners (Form NA8);
- Original passport and visa (passport must be valid for at least 13 months, and the visa must be issued for the correct purpose);
- Notarized copy of the Vietnamese spouse’s household registration book;
- Notarized copy of the Vietnamese spouse’s ID card or citizen ID card;
- 02 personal photos (2cm x 3cm);
- Marriage certificate (if issued abroad, it must be legalized and translated with a certified translation);
- Temporary residence confirmation form or a temporary residence declaration form from the local police where you reside.
Procedure for Applying for a Temporary Residence Card for Foreigners Married to Vietnamese Citizens
Step 1: Prepare the application as per legal regulations
Prepare the application as mentioned above.
Step 2: Submit the application
Submit the application for a temporary residence card at:
- 44-46 Tran Phu, Ba Đinh, Hanoi.
- 254 Nguyen Trai, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
- 7 Tran Quy Cap, Da Nang City.
- Or at the Immigration Department of the provincial or municipal police.
The Immigration Department will receive the application, check the legality and the content of the application.
- If complete and valid, they will receive the application, print, and issue a receipt, and schedule a date to return the results.
- If the application is incomplete, the officer will guide the applicant in supplementing the missing documents.
Application submission hours: Monday to Saturday morning (except for holidays and Sundays).
Step 3: Receive the results
Within 5 working days, the applicant comes to receive the result by presenting the receipt, ID card, or passport for the officer to verify and check. If the temporary residence card is approved, the applicant will pay the fee, sign, and receive the temporary residence card (even if the application is not approved).
The applicant must pay the fee, sign, and receive the temporary residence card within 5 working days.
Result collection hours: Monday to Friday (except for holidays, and Saturdays and Sundays).
Note: The temporary residence card for foreigners married to Vietnamese citizens with the symbol TT is valid for no more than 3 years.
